Made a last min decision to go for a daily road trip to the Elephant Sanctuary. The kids had a blast and it was totally awesome. Glad we made the decision to go.
Since the activities with the elephant started at 2pm, after picking up the elder 2 from school at 12pm we made our way to Lanchang. Had no problem with the way since it is in the GPS. Dengan pemanduan berhemah, we reach there close to 2 hours of driving. No entrance fees peeps! but limited to 120 visitors a day.

We took a hut to get some shade while waiting for the elephant. The place was well kept.
They brought the elephants straight to the river….hArith was stunned to see them. All this while he only sees elephant in the book, just couldnt believe himself how huge the elephants were

and those were just the baby elephant. Enough to make hArith amaze of the size.
They scrub those elephant before bringing them up for us to touch and feed. Later they brought out the adults elephant too
hArith was still in his i-am-amazed-mode
athirAh was being typical her…couldnt-be-bothered-mode. she was busy walking around here and there as she wish. Only managed to get a glimpse of her passing by infront of the elephant
Went there with my mom so we had ratio of one adult to one child. Thus it was rather difficult to take photos since i need to have my eyes always glued to one of them. Pastu others are foreigners yg almost all 6 feet tall…so i was blocked from taking photos…
During feeding time, only uZAir was brave enough. hArith fed the elephant too tapi tangan menggeletar…hihi
After feeding session, we could get a ride. At first syauQi wanted to bring both, hArith n athirAh for the ride…but they chicken out…ended up pApa naik sorang
When they saw pApa riding the elephant, hArith then showed interest. Lucky him that the man was kind enough to offer him and pApa another round.
When athirAh saw hArith riding the elephant, she became panic. Worried of hArith…she kept on calling “ayithh….ayith”‘
Next was activity was getting on the elephant in the river, and the elephant will toss u into the water
Since water was deep for the kids and hassle for us to get in since not enough hands to take care off, we didn’t get in. But hArith did get wet! mOmmy requested the staff to get hArith wet…hihi
That definitely caught him by suprise..ni muka tak puas hati…”y did the elephant do that to me??” or was it more of “how was that possible, elephant with water fountain??”
We really had a good time, hArith saying bye bye to the elephants
uZAir seems to be very hAppy too. For once, he wasnt super clingy. He roam around the area freely.

We surely had a great time. I would absolutely recommend this place to others.
So what do u need to know?
-No entrance fees but they encourage u to donate at the end of the day
-Activities starts at 2pm, if lambat u will miss it coz they wont repeat the activities.
-Bring your own food coz i didnt see anywhere selling food. but i’m not too sure though are outside foods allowed? we didn’t see any sign saying it’s not allowed. tp if takleh, then makan lah dlm keta…hihi. Since you have to reach there by 2pm, do pack some lunch
-it is okay to get wet…the changing room is clean =)
How to get there?
- Use the Karak highway, then continue with the Pantai Timur highway, take the Lanchang exit.
- After the tol turn right (ade signboard there) drive another 14km and you’ll reach the Gajah Sanctuary =)
- Dengan cara pemanduan berhemah, it took us almost 2 hours to reach there (approximately 110km)

hahaha..suka tgk muka harith tak puas hati kena sembur ngan gajah tu….anyway..mmg nampak seronok sgt la sebab leh pegang gajah tu n ride summore..kalau kat zoo leh tgk dr jauh je..

Harits so adorable, it tickles me too see his expression! my daughter Iffah was also sursprised too when she saw how big the elephant was – at the zoo. Probably it was all looking cute n small in the books, but the real size n color really taken her by surprise that she didn’t want 2 come near at all LOL! She was so scared!

i brought them to the zoo before but they were not focus enough at the animals..sbb tgk dari jauh kot and most of the animal dok tido kat celah2 semak…so seeing elephant up close really suprise him =)

he was simply amazed with the size, the last time we brought them to the zoo, they were not focusing at the animals. i guess coz sume dok either tido or tgh sorok kt semak..so they were cluless mak ni dok terjerit2 suruh diorang tgk ape.

zoo negara mmg i find it tak bebaloi pegi..the animals either asleep of cam celah2. and mmg kesian tgk all binatang like sooooo kurus. the lion mcm as though dlm prison tgh tunggu death sentence. lehek giler rupe. i bwk my kids to the zoo dulu, then nk buat entry dlm blog ni but ended up it was an entry full of negative aura..so tak jadi publish
